One with the Water® - proud to be a non-profit swim school
Due to California budget crisis, many schools lack the financial resources, personnel and facilities to provide athletic programs or physical therapy for children with special needs. One with the Water® aims to fulfill that need with specially-trained swimming instructors and a nimble, low-overhead, non-profit model of operation. Autism Therapy

Therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder
We believe that swim lessons are a life-altering therapy for special needs children with sensory-integration issues. We have seen vast improvement in children who have taken swim lessons with us, including children with dyslexia who have learned to read and kids with high energy who have become more relaxed. We focus on full-body development and strengthening motor skills to help kids succeed both in and out of the water. The Physiological Changes of a Swimmer
The Physiological Changes of a Swimmer: Photographic Journal and Documentary Film follows Veterans as they participate in Swimming Therapy. From their first steps into the water to preparation for swim competitions, the film takes viewers on a remarkable journey through the eyes of those who have discovered swimming as a calming and metamorphic outlet.

The photos and film document the major physiological changes that take place in the body from the inside and out when starting a swimming regimen. This project has three aspects: 1) the therapy of swimming, 2) the video and photographic journal of their journey, and 3) measuring their progress and growth with the coach and team.

Where does your donation go?

Programming: A comprehensive Adaptive Sport Swim Program consisting of stroke technique, conditioning, and open-water training, for children & adults with special needs; Operations: All swimmers with pool space and the proper team gear, as well as the administrative support required to support the program; & Individualized Instruction: Our skilled staff of professional collegiate & Olympic swimmers - certified in teaching for special needs - adapt their lessons for individuals & small groups of children with a wide variety of special needs

"Pay-It-Forward" - Our Monthly Scholarship Program
One with the Water® is committed to providing swim lessons to children and adults regardless of ability or income. In the U.S., drowning is the second leading cause of death (after motor vehicle crashes) in children twelve and younger in spite of being highly preventable. Our goal is to teach as many children as possible to swim and lower that statistic. Join us in reaching that goal by becoming a monthly sponsor!

Pay-It-Forward Levels
Orca - a donation of $50 per month
Dolphin - a donation of $30 per month
Starfish - a donation of $20 per month

One with the Water® Giveaway

Qualified Donors of the Pay-It-Forward Program are eligible to win an iPad Mini! A Qualified Donor is a Donor that has been participating in the Pay-It-Forward program for a minimum of six (6) months. One with the Water® will only hold a drawing if there are a minimum of one-hundred (100) Qualified Donors registered with One with the Water® before the drawing occurs. The Drawing will occur on a Quarterly Basis on the 25th of the third month after January 1st and every quarter thereafter. If OWTW does not reach 100 Donors by the time of the first drawing, but has more than 50 donors, then OWTW agrees to hold a Giveaway the 2nd quarter, or every six (6) months, until we reach 100 Donors. For every 100 Qualified Donors, OWTW agrees to raffle and deliver an iPad Mini, or OWTW will substitute an equivalent prize of similar function and value, depending on the changing leading technology availability at the time of the drawing. Qualified Donor will be entered into the drawing the number of times based on their Level as a Qualified Donor, for example: to be considered for four entries as an Orca, Donor must participate for six (6) months as an Orca Donor. Levels are Orca, Dolphin and Starfish and are defined as:
Orca = 4x
Dolphin = 2x
Starfish = 1x
