One with the Water is honored and excited to announce we’ve received a grant from Variety – The Children’s Charity of Southern California in order to support our primary mission.
At One with the Water, we live to inspire others to do what inspires them. We help to create miracles in the lives of children with special needs by teaching swimming lessons using Growth-Mindset techniques that empower kids to be successful in and out of the water. Variety’s generous contribution will allow us to provide two full-year scholarships for children with special needs, children like *Isabella.
Isabella is a beautiful six-year-old little girl with numerous, complex conditions including intractable atypical epilepsy with cerebral palsy, blindness, and developmental delays. She requires complete assistance for all activities of daily living as she is non-verbal, unable to follow directions, and is unable to crawl or walk. However, Isabella can roll, and uses a gait trainer with assistance.
She has had positive experiences with the water in the past, and her mother feels that she would benefit from swimming lessons to improve her quality of life and promote her development.
Variety’s core mission is to inspire hope, enrich lives and build a better future for the children of Southern California. We are thrilled to partner with them in fulfilling that mission.
