Encouraging Independence and Initiative

“One of the most challenging endeavors is getting a child with autism to be more independent and assertive. Professionals and parents agree that this goal is crucial, however many children with autism remain deficient in this area of independent functioning because of a lack of comprehensive understanding of each child’s sensory, social and cognitive challenges. A complete functional profile is necessary to create effective approaches to treatment and education.” By Rebecca Sperber, M.S., MFT.

At One with the Water, we focus on providing quality swimming lessons for kids and adults, with quality service. As part of our training to provide swimming lessons for the Autism Spectrum, we continually research the latest techniques and studies on teaching kids and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We want to share our findings with you. Our research helps us to provide safe and effective swimming lessons to your child.
