New Parenting Group Workshop Sponsored by One with the Water®

(Los Angeles, January 14, 2014) — A new parenting group workshop, based on the best-selling book, How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk is being offered by One with the Water®, a local non-profit swimming school for kids and adults, including those with special needs. The seven-session workshop sponsored by One with the Water will be led by Soul Blazing Life Coach Kenneth Rippetoe. All proceeds from the workshop will benefit the non-profit swim school.

Parents will learn proven skills, such as how to set limits while maintaining goodwill, cope with their child’s negative feelings, express anger without hurting, engage their child’s will cooperation, and help their child become caring and responsible. Parents will also learn how to resolve conflicts peacefully and create a family atmosphere of love and respect.

“Parents are on the firing line seven days a week. Yet few of them have had any training for this demanding job. No wonder even the most well-intentioned parents often find themselves feeling frustrated, bewildered, guilty or alone,” said Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, award-winning authors of the book and program. “The How to Talk So Kids Will Listen Workshop gives parents a chance to learn practical new skills and exchange ideas and experiences with each other,” notes Kenneth Rippetoe, swimming instructor for One with the Water.

Hundreds of thousands of parents and professional have benefited from the How to Talk so Kids Will Listen Workshop. In studies, one in Wisconsin, and the other in Colorado and North Dakota, researchers found that attending parents developed skills that significantly — and lastingly — improved the quality of their family life. They also found that these new-found skills worked equally well with children of all ages.
